SURGICAL
TREATMENT

Corrective jaw surgery is an option to patients whose jaws may be significantly misaligned and are unable to be corrected with orthodontic treatment alone. Problems such as severe overbites and underbites for example, can be treated with a combination of orthodontics (braces) and jaw surgery.

There are a multitude of benefits from this combined approach -  some of the biggest being an improved ability to chew and speak and having an aesthetically pleasing facial shape and profile.

At your initial assessment, Dr. Tadic will inform you of this surgical option and discuss it in more detail if it does apply to you. To help you make a well informed decision, a consultation with an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon can also be arranged.

Corrective jaw surgery can seem daunting at first but it can be life changing in the best way possible and it's an avenue of treatment that we here, at Footscray Orthodontics absolutely encourage.
