Youths & Teens
Our aim at Footscray Orthodontics is to give children and young adults the outstanding results they deserve when considering orthodontic treatment.
Most of our patients are between 10 to 18 years of age. However, it is also important to discover any possible issues that may arise as early as possible. So the earlier you bring in your child to see us the sooner we can detect any potential abnormalities that can cause complications with future orthodontic treatment.
If considered necessary by the orthodontist we offer an initial ‘First Phase’ of treatment which is to help correct any developing abnormalities. This is to ensure that any future full orthodontic treatment goes smoothly and is a routine case. In some scenarios, ‘First Phase’ treatment will enable the child to not have to go through full orthodontic treatment at all.
However, if the orthodontist can see that your child is still too young for braces then we will continue to monitor the child’s development and keep a careful eye on them by putting you on our recall system. We will send out friendly reminders for you to book a check-up appointment which is completely free of charge.
